iPAQ hx2000 Pocket PC Series Firmware Update for HP iPAQ hx2490 Pocket Type: BIOS This package contains an update file that replaces a section of the original system files for the listed handheld models and operating systems.­ This update is a permanent update to the ROM,­ and can only be undone by reflashing the entire ROM.­ IMPORTANT: This update is ONLY for HP iPAQ hx2000 Pocket PC Series devices that are running the Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.­0 Operating System.­ This update requires a little more than 2 MB of storage space on the handheld.­ It is important to ensure that enough space is available for the update before beginning the installation,­ because proceeding without the required storage space causes the handheld to stop responding (lock up) and the firmware update is not installed.­ If this occurs,­ the handheld must be reset,­ an appropriate amount of storage space must be made available,­ and then this package must be reinstalled.­ Do not interrupt the handheld while the update is being installed.­ Doing so may cause the handheld to become inoperable.­ It is advised that you perform a full back-up of your data prior to starting this update.­
